Trichoderma harzianum

Trichoderma harzianum is a bio-fungicide that controls and prevents pathogen-related diseases. It effectively suppresses harmful microorganisms and promotes plant growth, thriving in moderate temperatures and neutral pH conditions. 

Mode of Action :

  • Pathogen Recognition and Invasion: Trichoderma harzianum identifies and interacts with plant pathogenic fungi.

  • Myco-parasitism: It disrupts the cell walls of pathogens and absorbs the nutrients released during this process.

  • Enzyme Production: The fungus produces lytic enzymes and secondary metabolites that degrade cell walls.

  • Induction of Plant Resistance: Alters root architecture to enhance plant resistance against diseases during interactions with pathogens.

  • Production of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs): These compounds can attack insect parasitoids and predators, providing additional pest control.
